Key Dates & Deadlines

South Carolina gives you three ways to vote in the November general: in person on Election Day, early in person, or absentee by mail.

Sunday, October 4, 2026

You must be registered at least 30 days before Election Day. Because that date lands on a Sunday, mailed applications postmarked Monday, October 5 are still accepted. Register or check your status at scvotes.gov.

Friday, October 23, 2026 · 5:00 p.m.

Last day to return your absentee ballot application to the Berkeley County Voter Registration & Elections office. Completed ballots must be back in the office by 7:00 p.m. on Election Day.

Early voting

Oct. 19 – Oct. 31, 2026

Monday through Saturday, 8:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Early voting centers are closed Sunday, October 25. No excuse needed. Bring your photo ID and vote at any early voting center in Berkeley County.

Election Day

Tuesday, November 3, 2026

Polls are open 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. On Election Day you must vote at your assigned precinct. Find yours in the list below. If you are in line at 7:00 p.m., stay in line: you can still vote.
