Michael Parker: Lifelong Berkeley County Resident Ready to Give Back

Education

Michael attended Boulder Bluff Elementary (K–2), Sandridge Elementary (3–6), Cross High School, Berkeley Middle School, Berkeley High School, and Trident Technical College. His lifelong roots in Berkeley County shaped his dedication to serving the community.

Professional Journey

Michael spent 17 years in hospitality in District 7, honing business management, leadership, and customer service skills. In 2008 he joined the SC Department of Natural Resources as a Wildlife Technician, where he spent a decade managing resources across communities including Cross, Eadytown, Pineville, and St. Stephen.

Family & Community Service

Since 2019, Michael has supported his family in operating Hickory Bluff Berry Farm in Sandridge and launched The Farmer’s Daughter Food Truck. During the COVID-19 pandemic, he ran the food truck full-time while managing the farm, collaborating with local neighborhoods to provide continuity and support across Berkeley County. Post-pandemic, the food truck operates seasonally, continuing Michael’s dedication to community service.

Why he’s running

This Is the Only Office Michael Is Running For

Michael isn’t building a résumé. County council isn’t a step toward something else for him. It’s the whole point. He farms here, he raised his family here, and when this is over he intends to go back to the farm. That’s why he’s asking: so his kids inherit the District 7 he grew up in.
